Playoff Preview: (7)Philadelphia Sixers and (2)Miami Heat

The Sixers made the playoffs after starting the season making everyone think that it’s going to be another 30 win year and a bad hire, but instead they tore it up and now Elton Brand leads the team in scoring after being written off as a wreck. Andre Iguodala came back from Team USA into a more mature jack of all trades. In fact, the entire Sixers roster, are full of players coming into their own this season, and that’s the reason they made the playoffs this year.

Whether Lou Williams makes it back in time for the playoffs, that’s a big question for the Sixers, because without him, they are a different team entirely. He could be key because of Miami’s point guard struggles, Mike Bibby just can’t guard anyone with a hint of speed, and Mario Chalmers just doesn’t do himself any good by making mistakes now and then. Philadelphia has a very strong bench, with guys like Thad Young and Evan Turner, but they are going up against the third best defensive unit in the league. Sixers will have to play almost every game with the mindset of “the game of their lives” to take anything from the Heat.

Miami’s Big Three has been averaging 67 points per game during the regular season and they are probably going to get the same production from them even though there has been some nagging injury issues with Dwyane Wade. If Elton Brand can continue his strong performances throughout the playoffs, he would redeem himself from being a bust, the Sixers future looks solid even if they lose this playoff series, and they could give the Heat some trouble but they are just not strong enough to mount a serious challenge.

Trendy Pick
Heat just looks too good in their series sweep of the Sixers to have anyone think that Philadelphia actually has a chance against this team.

Wow Your Friends Pick
Sixers could probably steal a game from the Heat at home, just because of how terrible the Heat’s wing players play sometimes. And the Sixers bench can sometimes overwhelm teams with their play.
